The Movement

Founded in 2020 by Rha Goddess and Deepa Purushothaman, nFormation was a first of its kind vetted, membership community for women of color (WOC) by WOC, providing a safe, brave and new space to show up as our authentic selves, and to reimagine what it meant to not just take a seat at the table, but actually change the way the table is formed.

Members received exclusive access to events, speakers, and a digital hub that delivered a cutting edge curriculum for personal and professional development, in addition to holding community sessions that fostered a healing and transformative space.

The program featured intimate fireside chats with trailblazers and luminaries like Billie Jean King, Vernā Myers, Ella Bell, Tiffany Dufu, Reshma Saujani and Minda Harts, combined with community discussions to unpack issues ranging from identity, capital, purpose, and a new vision for the board and c-suite.

In addition to membership, nFormation worked with corporate allies to advocate for the creation of more inclusive workspaces to support recruitment, retention and advancement for WOC in the c-suite and beyond.

The Next Chapter

Though the chapter of nFormation has come to a close, and we have suspended the program and are no longer accepting new members, the movement is still very much alive and continues through Rha and Deepa’s individual ventures as they advocate for lifting up WOC every step of the way.

Learn more about our PowHER Redefined Research, conducted in partnership with The Billie Jean King Leadership Initiative.

The research, which included a survey of 1,500 professional women, 1,181 who were Black, Asian, Latina, Indigenous, Middle Eastern or multi-racial, along with 545 white women, and a series of moderated salon discussions, has been featured in Fortune, CNN Business, and Fast Company publications.

The first of its kind, the research was conducted by WOC, for WOC, and received international interest upon publication.

The desire behind the research was to produce a credible, and unified look into what WOC have to offer the fast-changing workplace, what they need to thrive, and how allies and companies can most effectively support and safeguard their well being and ability to contribute.
